Quiccs (Philippines)
Quiccs, the pseudonym of Filipino artist and designer Juanito Maiquez, is one of the most pioneering figures in the field of designer toys. Drawing inspiration from his Manila upbringing, he blends street graffiti, visual art, and pop culture to develop a highly recognizable visual style.
His most iconic creative vocabulary is known as "TEQ63"—an aesthetic style that strongly blends Japanese robot culture (such as mecha elements), American hip-hop spirit, and Filipino cultural identity. Dressed in streetwear and featuring distinctive details, the TEQ63 character has become Quiccs' most recognizable creative symbol and a core character sought after by collectors of limited-edition toys worldwide.
Quiccs' rise to fame is inextricably linked to his cross-brand collaborations. His most well-known collaboration is with Adidas. A devoted Adidas fan since his teens, he deliberately incorporated the "three stripes" element into his work, hoping to one day attract the brand's attention. Years later, he finally collaborated with Adidas to release limited-edition shoes, apparel, and toys, marking a significant milestone in his career.
He also collaborated with Johnnie Walker to launch the TEQ63 10th Anniversary Limited Edition series in 2023, including a special edition Blue Label bottle and exclusive toys, which received high praise from collectors. In addition, his creative footprint has spread all over the world, and he has exhibited in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Middle East, Mexico and other places. In 2025, he launched the "Macho" limited edition action figure, which paid tribute to Mexican wrestling culture and caused a great sensation in the international market.
Starting with street graffiti and gradually moving into the world of designer toys, Quiccs has always adhered to the belief of "not chasing trends, but sticking to his own style." Using TEQ63 as an extension of his artistic personality, he elevates street spirit and toy design to a higher artistic level, becoming an important symbol of the fusion of global toy art and street culture.
Today, Quiccs is not only the creative director and CEO of the crossover brand "Burnwater Art X Design," but also a creator who continues to push the boundaries of art. His art has transcended the canvas, developing a cross-media visual universe centered on TEQ63, with its influence continuing to expand and inspiring a new generation of creators to be bold in their own stylistic expression and innovation.
