Overall Background Concept (Black Background):

 The uniform black background in the artwork symbolizes "death," which is ever-present and ubiquitous in our world. Within it, a vibrant world is depicted, representing the existence of "life."

As a medium connecting these two opposing worlds —— "life and death" —— the character of the "maiden" is placed in the artwork, serving as a bridge between the two.

Concept:

This work takes blooming cherry blossoms as its theme, simultaneously presenting the "beauty" and "awe" inherent in nature.

The cherry blossoms filling the canvas all face the viewer, presenting a soft beauty of spring while subtly exuding a breathtaking sense of oppression and reverence.

The maiden in the center is depicted in colors similar to the cherry blossoms, seemingly blending into nature at first glance. However, being human, she cannot truly merge with nature, thus exhibiting a sense of "otherness." Amidst the fully bloomed cherry blossoms, she carries a feeling of unease, as if on the verge of being swallowed whole.

The blue background symbolizes the clear spring sky, enhancing the moment of the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The small leaves and patterns around suggest other natural elements, illustrating the extension of life.

Through contrast, this work presents humanity's anomalous presence within nature—existing yet unable to truly integrate—as well as the inherent duality of "beauty and awe" within nature itself.
