Edge-Flow: Rebirth and Transformation

To re-perceive the gradually melting contours——the boundaries are quietly loosening.

Self and other, emotion and information, inner and outer, all intertwine and blur, ultimately creating a new, ineffable landscape. Through the "face"——this theme that is both familiar and mysterious——I explore the "edges" of existence in flux. It is a dialogue with another self, continuously emerging even as its form gradually dissolves. 

In recent years, my creations have entered a realm where "Edge" (the concrete form of a face) and "Flow" (dynamic and abstract fluidity) merge. In contemporary society, aesthetic standards and values are diversifying at an accelerating pace. Once clear boundaries ——balance and imbalance, conscious and unconscious, human and AI —— are now gradually intermingling, constantly updating into new forms. Through social media, individual selves are dissolving into others. AI is no longer merely a phantom in the mirror but a "real existence" that permeates our lives and creativity. Even the boundary between the human and non-human exists within an ambiguous gradient of gray.

Since I can remember, I have been deeply fascinated by the motif of the "face." The face is both a "perceptual gateway" for receiving external information and an "expressive organ" for projecting inner thoughts. In modern times, the face is no longer just a presentation of appearance but also a symbol of complex communication and the last bastion defining the self. As the boundaries between "self" and "other," "inner" and "outer" gradually dissolve, we still strive to maintain the "contours" that constitute our self.

I believe that contemporary reality exists within these "flowing boundaries" and "fading contours." I seek to capture the multi-layered perception that arises at the moment form disintegrates and begins to flow ——that is the constantly changing state of "edge." Through the window of the "face," I will continue to depict the scene of "rebirth" contained within this chaotic era.
