Edge-Flow: Rebirth and Transformation

Reperceiving those gradually melting contours—the boundaries are quietly beginning to loosen.

Self and other, emotion and information, inner and outer, everything intertwines, blurs, and ultimately generates a new, ineffable landscape. Through the "face"—this most familiar yet most mysterious motif—I explore the "edges" of existence in flux. It is a dialogue with another self, continuously emerging even as its form gradually dissipates.

In recent years, my creations have entered a realm where "Edge" (the concrete form of the face) and "Flow" (dynamic and abstract movement) merge. In contemporary society, aesthetic standards and values are diversifying at an accelerating pace. Once clear boundaries—balance and imbalance, consciousness and unconsciousness, human and AI—are now gradually merging, constantly transforming into new forms. Through social media, the individual self gradually dissolves into others. AI is no longer just an illusion in a mirror but a "real presence" that permeates our lives and creativity. Even the line between artificial and non-artificial exists in an ambiguous gray gradient.

Since memory began, I have been deeply drawn to the motif of the "face." The face is both a "sensory portal" for receiving external information and an "expressive organ" for projecting inner thoughts. In modern times, the face is no longer just an outward appearance but a symbol of complex communication and the last bastion defining the self. As the boundaries between "self" and "other," "inner" and "outer" gradually dissolve, we still strive to maintain the "contours" that constitute our self.

I believe that contemporary reality exists within these "flowing boundaries" and "disappearing contours." I attempt to capture the multifaceted perceptions that arise at the moment forms collapse and begin to flow—that is, the ever-changing state of "edge." Through the window of the "face," I will continue to depict the "rebirth" contained within this chaotic era.
