Ahyun Lee (b. 1997) is a Korean artist whose work examines perception in the age of images: we raise our cameras before truly seeing, and fragments pile up meaninglessly in digital albums. By reclaiming moments never fully experienced, the artist traces the forgotten layers of perception. The original artwork was shown in Aile’s Artful Imagination, a collaboration between Neverland Gallery, a Taiwan art gallery in Xinyi, Taipei, and Gallery Aile in Seoul. This page keeps a record of those works.

"Moments that rediscover forgotten layers of visual perception"

@nanmelona

We often raise our cameras before we can truly see clearly, and start scrolling through the screen before our bodies have a chance to feel anything. Fragments of images accumulate and disappear rapidly before our senses can fully capture them, meaninglessly piling up in digital albums. By retrieving and re-experiencing those moments that were never truly experienced, I try to trace the forgotten layers of our perception.
