About this work
The Three of Swords represents heartbreak and sorrow — and the release that follows facing pain. CASIMIR reinterprets the card with his intricate, ornate linework and female figures, weaving together plants, symbols and esoteric imagery.

Tarot meaning
Upright: heartbreak, grief, painful truth
Reversed: recovery, releasing pain, forgiveness
→ Tarot Minor Arcana meanings (Swords, Cups, Wands, Pentacles)

Head tipped back and eyes closed, a redhead beneath a wide black hat trimmed with white blossoms holds a glowing red heart in front of her chest. Three ornate dark swords pierce it from above and the sides. Scarlet and green droplets come down like rain, orange ribbons wind across a deep green ground, and pale blossoms gather below her hands.

“Three of Swords” is a limited-edition print from CASIMIR's Tarot of Drifting Life (塔羅浮生) series, 45.7 × 75.9 cm, edition of 100 (50 released). View it in person by appointment at Neverland Gallery, Xinyi, Taipei.
