About this work
The Ace of Wands is the spark of inspiration and passion — the beginning of new ventures and creativity. CASIMIR reinterprets the card with his intricate, ornate linework and female figures, weaving together plants, symbols and esoteric imagery.
Tarot meaning
Upright: inspiration, passion, a new venture
Reversed: delays, lack of drive, setbacks
→ Tarot Minor Arcana meanings (Swords, Cups, Wands, Pentacles)
Arms raised overhead, a woman with violet hair grips a single glowing wand that shoots a burst of yellow-green rays across the top of the sheet. She stands in a tall arched doorway of deep teal, a sequined amber column of fabric running down her body. Cream-coloured cloud shapes billow around her legs, and small green trees mark the lower corners.
“Ace of Wands” is a limited-edition print from CASIMIR's Tarot of Drifting Life (塔羅浮生) series, 45.7 × 75.9 cm, edition of 100 (50 released). View it in person by appointment at Neverland Gallery, Xinyi, Taipei.
