About this work
The Magician stands for willpower and creativity — the ability to turn ideas into reality. CASIMIR reinterprets the card with his intricate, ornate linework and female figures, weaving together plants, symbols and esoteric imagery.
A cascade of crimson hair runs from the crown of this figure down past her ankles as she lifts a wand overhead, a violet-blue infinity loop floating just above. Behind her sits a yellow star set into a dark disc of checkered and circular motifs. The surrounding field glows saffron and gold, flecked with white dots and confetti, and she stands barefoot on a small ornate pedestal.
“The Magician” is a limited-edition print by CASIMIR, 45.7 × 75.9 cm, edition of 30. View it in person by appointment at Neverland Gallery, Xinyi, Taipei.
