About this work
The Eight of Cups represents walking away and searching — leaving behind what no longer fulfils, in search of deeper meaning. CASIMIR reinterprets the card with his intricate, ornate linework and female figures, weaving together plants, symbols and esoteric imagery.
Lilac hair loose over her shoulders, a woman steps toward the viewer gripping a gnarled golden staff in her left hand. Her violet gown, dotted with glowing orange spots, trails into a swirl behind her feet. Overhead, eight golden cups in shadowed circles curve in an arc, framed by leaves and a tall doorway of dark vertical bands.
