創作理念｜Artist’s Concept
情色（Erotica）與色情（Pornography）均意味著性活動的描繪，但研究者會區分「情色」和「色情」的不同。「情色」指對相互取悅的性活動作非暴力、非虐待性的描述；「色情」則包含攻擊、暴力、宰制的性活動的描繪（Padgett, 1989）。“Erotica”一詞源自“Eros”（愛神、性愛），可經由相互關係、選擇與分享的存在而與 Pornography 區別。Erotic 是相互共有的快樂，人們之間經由正確的選擇，而有足夠的力量去做性的表達；Pornography 缺乏選擇，並且存在暴力、支配與征服，它是指性被用於強化一些不平等、痛苦與貶抑（Steinem, 1995）。換言之，色情是激發人的性慾、使人性興奮，而色情與情色之間的區別，其依據的標準是內容描繪的是不平等或平等的關係。
Erotica and pornography both depict sexual activity, but researchers distinguish between them. Erotica describes mutually pleasurable sex without violence or abuse; pornography depicts sex involving aggression, violence and domination (Padgett, 1989). “Erotica” comes from Eros — love and desire — and is set apart from pornography by mutuality, choice and sharing: a pleasure held in common, where people choose freely and have the power to express their sexuality. Pornography lacks choice and involves violence, dominance and conquest; sex is used to reinforce inequality, pain and degradation (Steinem, 1995). In short, the line between the two lies in whether the relationship depicted is equal or unequal.
