About this work

About the Artwork
"Persistent Petitioners" is an official illustration created by artist CASIMIR in collaboration with Magic: The Gathering. Featuring an oppressive composition rich in layered detail, the piece captures the essence of this classic card—that power does not reside in a single figure, but emerges through endless repetition and sheer numbers, ultimately crushing the opponent's will.
In the artist’s interpretation, the image transcends the act of "petitioning," transforming into a collective obsession akin to a religious ritual. The characters become the embodiment of sound, constantly repeating and accumulating to form a torrent of pressure. The fluid, chaotic background symbolizes the extension of this sound, like an endless anthem—the more the viewer seeks silence, the louder it becomes, eventually filling the entire sensory realm.
